I am getting shorter. My driver's license (that I filled out) notes that I am 183 centimetres tall--but after measuring myself at the local Ohtawara hospital (don't ask why I was there, just know that I got frequent Air Miles from flying off my bicycle), I discovered that I was now only 178 centimetres.
I lost five centimetres! Thank goodness it was only in height!
Could the Japanese metric system be different from the rest of the world?
