It's Saturday, July 6, 1991.
I'm in an Utsunomiya hotel room with afellow AET (assistant English Teacher) named Sarah with whom I spent the night.
Sarah, myself, Matthew and Nicholas leaveour hotel rooms - the damn place doesn't take VISA so we empty our wallets ofcash to pay for the damn place. of course they take VISA... they just don'tbelieve a foreigners credit card will work here in Japan. Hint: It does!
Matthew and I say good bye to Sarah andNick and go our separate ways. Really... I never see Sarah again. It doesn'tseem to be a concern.
Matthew and I go to Mr. Donut and 7-11for breakfast. I'm also lugging around a pair of skates that Chris had given melast night before his girlfriend began hitting on me at a dance club. It wasn'tmy fault - she kept following me around as I tried to ditch her - until shetrapped me. On the plus side, I didn't sleep with her and instead slept withNick's lady friend. Ommigawd... I'm out of control! I couldn't get laid backhome in Toronto for the first 25 years of my life - but here on Japan, thewomen are falling all over themselves to sleep with me!
Anyhow... Matthew was carrying the largecoat Chris had given me - a perfect segue (not really) for heading to a movie. We watched Dances With Wolves. Three hours long. Rich. Powerful. I cried threetimes.
We then head back home to Ohtawara-shi.We each grab a taxi because there won't be another bus for two hours. Where theheck is Junko when I need a ride in her car? Damn stalkers can't do anythingright.
Oh yeah... she was caught a few days agoand sent to her mom's in Utsunomiya... where I just was.... hmmm.
Today, there was supposed to be an AETmeeting and another enkai (party)... but obviouslyMatthew and I blew it off. I'm sure no one will have noticed I wasn't there.
Right.
It doesn't matter anyway... neither of usknew where the meeting or party was to have been. No one told us.
I get home, do some much needed laundryand watch some television. It was a beautiful and quiet day after a week oflurid sex. I need more days like it.
I'm so tired and my mind is on the blink.
Somewhere wondering what I was thinking,
