Maria Fernanda Perez , Miss Global Teen Ecuador 2010

2010 The first edition of the Miss Global Teen contest will be hosted by the state of Mato Grosso do Sul and the city of Campo Grande, Brazil, from June 28 to July 4. The grand finale will happen on July 3, at the beautiful Campo Grande's Rubens Gil de Camilo Convention Center.

Hailing from the center of the globe is Maria Fernanda Perez, 17, Miss Global Teen Ecuador 2010. Chosen last weekend in a casting organized by DIOSAS Escuela de Misses, Maria Fernanda is 1.68 m-tall, and she is a student of TV and Communication, besides being a professional dancer.

Maria Fernanda Perez will compete in Miss Global Teen 2010 in Campo Grande, Brazil, on July 3.

Miss Ecuador 2011 is Crowned

Claudia Schiess Fretz, Miss Galapagos, was crowned Miss Ecuador 2011 in Santo Domingo de los Tsachilas on March 17th, 2011. Claudia is 20 year old and stands 1.73 m. She will represent Ecuador at the Miss Universe 2011 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in September. She also won the awards of Most Beautiful Face and Most Beautiful Hair.

Claudia, a student of Commercial Engineering, is fluent in Spanish, English and German; she is also a professional make-up artist and professional dancer, as well as her work as a print and runway model.

Claudia represented Ecuador in the Miss Supranational 2010 contest in Poland.

Maria Veronica Vargas was elected Miss Ecuador World, and also won the Miss Photogenic award. She will compete in the 2011 Miss World pageant to be held in December.

Maria Fernanda Cornejo was elected Miss Ecuador International and will participate in the Miss International 2011 pageant to take place in China in October.

Olga Alava and Leslie Ayala completed the Top 5 finalists. 19 beauties competed in the annual contest, which had the presence of Miss Universe 2009 Stefania Fernandez.

Lady Mina, 23 years old from Guayaquil is a student of Journalism in the in the University of Guayaqui,she is also the third Afro-Ecuadorian woman to be crowned Miss Ecuador. Miss Ecuador 2010 was broadcast live from CEMEXPO, in Quito.

During the event Mina received high scores from the judges in the areas of competition, although Ana Galarza, of Tungurahua, was the mega-favorite to win the crown and also received the highest scores during the Swimsuit and Evening Gown Competition, Mina won because of the final question. Mina is becoming popular among Ecuadorians who often referred to her as the "Black Barbie".
